Having a friend or family member officiate your wedding can be incredibly meaningful—but it can also feel overwhelming!
I’ll help your chosen officiant feel prepared and confident, so you can relax and enjoy your day. Here’s what to expect when I work together with you and your officiant.
Are you looking for an officiant?
Whether you’re looking for someone to officiate your wedding or you already have a friend or family member officiating, I’d love to support you. See Weddings for more about working with me as an officiant!
Couple + Rabbi Meeting
We’ll meet together to talk through your story, your values, and your vision. I’ll introduce you to a variety of Jewish wedding customs: from timeless traditions to modern and inclusive elements. For some couples, that means working together to shape a ceremony that feels fully and recognizably Jewish. For others, it’s about integrating Jewish elements in a way that feels natural and heartfelt.
Couple + Officiant + Rabbi Meeting
We’ll review your entire ceremony together, step by step. I’ll provide practical officiating tips for your officiant to help your ceremony feel polished and run smoothly. You’ll learn together about Jewish traditions and I’ll answer any questions so everyone feels prepared and excited! Unsure if it’s choo-pah, chu-PAH, or something with more throat-clearing? You’re not alone, and we’ll go over everything together!
Customized Ceremony Outline
You’ll receive my own ceremony outline as a starting point, and we’ll work together to tailor it specifically for your wedding and your story.
Ketubah Review + Ketubah Ceremony Prep
If you’re signing a ketubah, I’ll review the Hebrew text before it’s printed, double-checking names, dates, and details for accuracy. I’ll guide your officiant through a tasteful signing ceremony!
Private Zoom Rehearsal with Officiant (optional)
Shortly before your wedding, I’ll meet privately with your officiant over Zoom. We’ll walk through the ceremony one final time, smoothing out any last questions or nerves!
